WHERE IS TALBOT
QUARRY?
Located at 1221-1249 Centre Road, Oakleigh South, Talbot Quarry is a 19 hectare site with a grim past. A former quarry turned unregulated landfill the site is contaminated with asbestos, methane, "slime" and heavy metals.

Positioned next to family homes, highly populated residential areas, children's play areas and Clarinda Primary School, residents of the local area were promised this site would be turned into a Green Space.

Now the owners of the site want to commence removal of waste to build up to 6 storey housing for 2,500 residents. Removal of this waste brings risks which are far too high to local residents.
